A free screening of the documentary Pittsburgh’s Underground Railroad will be presented for five days at The Tull Family Theater in partnership with Mavuno, Sweetwater Center for the Arts’ annual festival of African American Arts and Culture.
As a companion program to the self-guided Black history tour of Sewickley, this 30-minute film focuses on the pre-Civil War trail to freedom through the Pittsburgh region.
The documentary is offered to the community on a first-come, first-served basis, courtesy of the local producer Sarah (Jameela) Martin, M. Ed.; director Jay White of Digital Media, and the Theater.
Showings will be Tuesday, Oct. 20, through Saturday, Oct. 24, at 1 p.m. The film producer and director may be present for some screenings.
