Join us as we celebrate the beginning of the Mavuno Festival with our art exhibition, pip. pit. pith., celebrating Black artists curated by local artist Steve Alexis. The sentiment behind this being, to push past those initial labels and prmote the uniquness of the artist. That speaks to the idea of an essence of core. A depth beyond the label we’re given.
Exhibiting artists include Petra Floyd, Dominick McDuffie, Zeal Eva, Darrin Milliner, and Evangeline Mensah-Agyekum. The exhibition reception will be held Friday September 16th, 2022 from 6-9 p.m.
A special opening performance will be held by the Sub-Verses-Social-Collective poetry group at 6:30 p.m.
This event is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be provided. The exhibition will be on display from September 16th – October 28th.
