Miranda Brandon

Miranda Brandon is an animal enthusiast and advocate. Her multimedia work challenges how we perceive the physical and psychological constructs of the world around us and strives to promote a greater understanding and appreciation for the interconnectivity between human and non-human animals, and the shared landscape. Originally from Oklahoma, Brandon moved to Minneapolis to obtain her BFA from the Minneapolis College of Art and Design and later completed her MFA at the University of Minnesota in 2014. Since then, Brandon has received a Jerome Emerging Artist Fellowship, has exhibited work in solo and group shows both locally and nationally, and has been featured by Audubon magazine. Brandon returned to Minnesota in 2018 to begin teaching at St Olaf, after a year and half in Tulsa, Oklahoma where she was creating new work, as a Tulsa Artist Fellow, examining: biodiversity, ecosystem flux and acceptance, animal representation, and the agency of objects within an anthropogenic landscape. Thank You. Have a nice day! (Forestscape #2), composite digital photograph/archival pigment print, was part of Sweetwater’s site/sight exhibition in 2018.
