On behalf of the staff, board, and teaching artists at Sweetwater Center for the Arts, I would like to thank the Allegheny County Regional Asset District (RAD) for consistently funding the important work we do for our community and region. We are extremely proud to be a regional asset, as well as grateful for the support of our capital funding request for an essential piece of equipment in our ceramics studio; a pugmill. With a pugmill, Sweetwater can now reuse almost 100% of the excess clay our ceramics students and teaching artists produce.
A pugmill will save the center thousands of dollars annually, reduce the center’s carbon footprint, and eliminate the labor-intensive work our ceramics techs endure. We are so grateful to RAD for its partnership and look forward to strengthening it for years to come.
