Formed in the fall of 2007, The Turpentiners are a five-piece acoustic group from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The group plays a mix of traditional American music ranging from gut-bucket blues to good-time country and rural swing. The repertoire is a soulful blend of American music from a wide range of eras and sources compiled with the philosophy that a good song—like good food—always proves itself relevant. The Turpentiners have played and been featured performers throughout Western Pennsylvania and the Mid-Atlantic US, including Fallingwater, Johnstown’s Folk and Flood Festival, Carnegie Music Hall (Pittsburgh), Calliope’s Schenley Park Music Series, Tree Pittsburgh’s Arbor Aid, and numerous other private and select venues.
