About Evangeline:

Evangeline is a multidisciplinary artist based in Pittsburgh, PA. As a self-taught photographer and stylist, her hybrid genre lends itself to portraying undaunted characters through their vulnerability. She is inspired by the Black experiences recontextualizing the banalities of daily life, which is why her work aims to capture individuals; in part by transforming them. Evangeline also makes use of her technological background to create interactive physical objects and is exploring film as a storytelling medium to probe the temporal aspect of identity.

Evangeline has been part of group exhibitions including Brewhouse Association, Cultural Trust Gallery Crawl, Sweetwater Center for the Arts, and Culture Con. Her work was displayed on a billboard through SaveArtSpace in Pittsburgh, PA and has been published in PhotoVogue of Vogue Italia. Evangeline recently received a special mention for the Silver Eye Fellowship, and her short film “Don’t We Look Pretty?” was part of the Wick Monet Film Festival and the Youth Film Fest at the Carnegie Museum of Art, where she also spoke on the panel following the event. She received her Bachelor of Science from Carnegie Mellon University and currently has a solo exhibition at the 38a gallery and and a member of the Distillery Artist in Residency program at Brew House Arts.
