Artist in Residence Alison Pirl

Meet Alison Pirl, Sweetwater Center for the Arts’ first-ever Artist in Residence. A ceramic and mixed media artist and educator, Alison’s relationship with clay began in elementary school and deepened through her high school years. During her residency at Sweetwater Center for the Arts, she’s excited to push her practice further by creating a larger, cohesive body of work, focusing on larger-scale, non-functional ceramic pieces that allow for exploration and experimentation. Beyond creating, Alison is most looking forward to time in the studio alongside others — learning from fellow artists, sharing knowledge, and teaching within Sweetwater’s creative community. The Artist in Residence program is made possible by the generous support of the Singer Family Creative Endowed Fund.
