Dorit Brauer is an award-winning author, artist and founder and owner of the Brauer Institute for Holistic Medicine. She taught meditation and stress reduction programs at UPMC, Highmark and many other corporate sites. She is the winner of the Immigrant Entrepreneur Award by Global Pittsburgh, in recognition of her achievements and enriching the Pittsburgh region with her talent and tenacity since her arrival in 1998.
Dorit Brauer is the author of the award-winning autobiography Girls Don’t Ride Motorbikes – A Spiritual Adventure Into Life’s Labyrinth, chronicling her modern-day pilgrimage in which she embarks on a 7,430 solo motorcycle adventure across the US. On her journey she recounts poetic life stories spanning her youth on a dairy farm in Germany, a 10-week solo backpacking trip in Brazil, the turmoil of living in Tel Aviv, and to her most recent chronicles in the United States.
In The Art of Mindful Painting artist talk Brauer illuminates her artistic evolution and she looks forward to share her Color of Life Guided Meditation, inviting attendees to unleash their creativity and connect to the artist within.
The guided meditation is accompanied by a ‘Sound Bath’ – the relaxing sound of Quartz Crystal Singing Bowls, which induce alpha wave level activity of the brain, balance the hemispheres of the brain and resonate within every cell of the body, creating health, balance, and harmony.
