SCHURMAN FINE ARTS FUND

In the summer of 2024, Sweetwater Center for the Arts received a transformative gift from Carol and Gary Schurman, establishing the Schurman Fine Arts Fund. As a programmatic centerpiece of our 50th anniversary celebration in 2025, this fund highlights Sweetwater’s commitment to advancing the arts in our community. This fund represents a pivotal step in advancing our adult curriculum and enhancing the resources available to our artist community.

The Schurman Fine Arts Fund is specifically designed to support adult learners, providing them with the tools, expertise, and educational experiences needed to thrive in their artistic pursuits and careers. Through this fund, Sweetwater can:

  • Collaborate with Specialty Instructors: Engage expert educators to offer advanced guidance in various disciplines of visual arts.
  • Acquire Essential Equipment: Invest in the tools and resources necessary to support artists’ creative growth.
  • Develop a Progressive Curriculum: Create innovative programming that addresses evolving artistic practices and techniques.
  • Expand Regional Impact: Leverage our creative entrepreneurial program to empower artists and amplify their contributions to the local arts community.

These advancements will significantly elevate Sweetwater’s role as a regional hub for visual arts education and professional development. By enriching the curriculum and strengthening resources for adult learners, we aim to create a lasting impact for emerging and established artists alike.

Your Support is Vital We invite you to join us in growing the Schurman Fine Arts Fund. Your contribution will directly impact our ability to:

  • Provide world-class instruction
  • Enhance our facilities with state-of-the-art equipment
  • Deliver cutting-edge programming that inspires creativity and innovation

Together, we can ensure Sweetwater remains a beacon of opportunity and inspiration for artists in our community and beyond.
