Studio Rental Calendar

The Metalsmithing and Ceramics rental calendar will not be utilized during the summer months due to limited availability because of scheduled summer camps and classes. If interested in renting one of our studios, please email ecory@sweetwaterartcenter.org or call 412-741-4405.

This calendar is for reserving a rental spot in the Ceramics and Metalsmithing room. Our rentals are by the hour and cost per person $15.00.  
Payment will be at the building. Up to 2 people may rent the space at one time. Every person in the room for rental must register. It is a requirement that 
renters have previously taken a class at Sweetwater in their chosen studio within the last 3 years. we will be making slots available 1 to 2 weeks in advance. 

To view availability, select which rental calendar you wish to view and select the day and time you wish to rent. If you cannot click the 
time option on a specific day, then it is unavailable. To sign up for more than one hour, refresh your page after confirmation. Then you will 
be able to reserve your next hour.

Ceramic studio renters may purchase clay in increments of 25 lb. blocks for $45 (includes glazing & firing fee).

Sweetwater Ceramics Studio Policies for COVID-19 Safety  

ONLY ON PERSON AT A SINK AT A TIME
Please announce to the room you are going to the sink before getting up.
Communication with your classmates is key to keeping social distancing.

WEAR YOUR MASK 

STAY 6 FEET AWAY FROM INSTRUCTOR AND CLASSMATES

THE STUDIO WILL BE DISINFECTED BETWEEN CLASSES AND RENTALS. 

When an item is ready to be fired place it on the appropriate shelf in the kiln room. DO NOT touch or move any other pieces on these shelves. 

The bottoms of your work must haveYour name AND your class code! 

  • We want to limit the use of communal shelves. PLEASE put your name and class code on the bottom of your pieces so the technician can put your fired items on YOUR PERSONAL shelf. 

As Always Please Keep the Studio Clean: 

  • Keeping the dust level down is important for everyone’s health who uses the studio. 
  • DO NOT sweep or use fans in the ceramic studio. 
  • Wipe down all surfaces with clean water and sponges, including wheels and splash pans. Do not use soap. 
  • Pick up any chunks of clay that are on the floor by hand. Do not sweep. 
  • Please mop up the area you used after you are finished.  
  • These steps will ensure a clean, dust reduced environment for all. 
  • Always use the clay trap sink to rinse tools, buckets, and splash pans. 

Sweetwater tools and equipment: 

  • You may bring your own tools. 
  • You may still use Sweetwater’s tools. Wash your tools thoroughly after you are finished using them. The studio tools will be disinfected in between classes. 
  • If you use a rag that can be reused, keep it on your shelf until it is ready to be washed. All used rags should be put in a dirty rag bin. DO NOT rinse and hang rags to dry.  

Please clean up after yourself.  Stay safe for yourself and others!
