Solo Exhibition by Katie Stone Opening Reception

Reception: Saturday, August 3, 6:00-8:00pm. Sweetwater is excited to present a solo exhibition by ceramic artist Katie Stone. A graduate of Maryland Institute College of Art, Katie is the Studio Director at Stray Cat Studios. Katie’s sculptures are filled with playful, tongue in cheek comments on the human condition. Stories, cultures, and acts of man are played by characters that often take the form of animals. They sit amongst a two-dimensional, narrative world of childlike doodles. She weaves the weight of our humanity with the nostalgia of the saccharine memories of our past. Katie Stone will be presenting an artist talk on her work and creative process. Check back here for the lecture date soon!
