Trigger Warning Submission

More than 30,000 people are killed with guns each year in our country. Americans are 25 times more likely to be murdered with a gun than people in other developed countries. Firearms are the second leading cause of death for American children and teens. In the past year we have suffered over 200 mass shootings. Nearly two thirds of gun deaths are suicides.

Gun violence is an epidemic and a public health crisis, yet as a country we cannot agree on any solutions. As we debate, more guns are made, sold and used, and people continue to perish. The emotional toll on our society is strong and finds its way into the works of artists trying to grapple with the issues surrounding gun violence. Trigger Warning seeks works from artists that tackle the complex relationship America has with its guns and the destruction left in its wake.
