Each year, Sweetwater serves a broad, demographically diverse audience of approximately 8,000 individuals through a variety of arts programming including educational art classes, gallery exhibitions, outreach programs and community events. We are proud of our position to create foster programming that has allowed our community to explore its creativity for the past 42 years.

Sweetwater relies on contributions for nearly 40% of its operating income. Your support is critical to our continued success. Sponsor an Exhibition or Event

Sweetwater hosts a variety of annual fundraising events including Sweet Jazz Music Series, Muddled + Mixed: An Art Inspired Craft Cocktail Competition, MAVUNO Festival of African American Art & Culture, and our popular Holiday mART: Annual Sale of Artisan Gifts.

Sweetwater also hosts a variety of juried and curated exhibitions in its gallery each season. We are committed to offering opportunities to regional and emerging artists, as well as accomplished artists from throughout the US. Annual opportunities include a solo exhibition for regional artists, an exhibition coinciding with our MAVUNO Festival of African American culture and participation in Holiday mART, our annual sale of handmade gifts.

Sponsor an Educational Program

Sweetwater passionately believes that the foundation of arts education and skill development are critical to individuals regardless of his or her age or career path. Our quarterly sessions allow students of levels, from novice to experienced, to participate and engage in a variety of arts programming, including adult studio classes, children & teen summer camps, adult/child classes, after-school programs, and preschool workshops. Your sponsorship provides support for these education programs and will ensure Sweetwater continues to offer outcome-based classes and workshops for all children, teens, adults, and families across the Pittsburgh region.

When you or a family member is looking to take an art class, view an exhibition, or attend a cultural event, where do you turn? If you're like most in our community, you go to Sweetwater Center for the Arts.

$1,000 provides enough materials to fund a semester-long community outreach program.
$500 allows two senior citizens to take an oil painting class.
$250 provides enough clay for every student in an 8-week ceramics class.
$200 will send a child to summer camp for a week.
$100 provides the food for a culinary workshop.
$50 provides materials for two weeks of painting camps.
