The World Around Us: Watercolors PA01 Ages 18+
We will begin with the basics as we learn about brushes, paints, and paper and move into the all-important design and composition. Watch how your paintings will come alive when the foundation is exciting. Personal expression, abstract or otherwise, is encouraged. Lessons are designed to explore color and compositional possibilities to spark ordinary subjects into eye-catching visuals. All levels welcome.

Collage: Painting with Scissors PA02 Ages 18+
Henri Matisse once described his collage technique as "Painting with Scissors". Join us, as we discover innovative ways to create personal collages that artistically build surface and tell a personal story. Students will learn new and fun techniques such as decoupage drawing, painting, smudging, stippling, glazing, layering, aging and more! Students are encouraged to bring personal collage items that can be incorporated into their composition to help tell their story.

Oil Painting with Joyce Werwie Perry PA03 Ages 18+
This class is for beginners and experienced painters, alike. If you are a beginner, the instructor will take you through your first painting step-by-step. If you have taken this course before, you will learn additional techniques and develop your own style while using the subjects of your choice. Students will also get the benefit of color theory instruction as it relates to their paintings. Many experienced painters in this class now practice Joyce's original knife painting technique, and new students are welcome to experiment with this impressionistic style if they wish.

Acrylic Landscapes PA04 Ages 18+
This course covers the use of color and value to create distance, depth, atmosphere and separation of planes within a landscape painting. Students will learn how to create certain effects of light through careful attention to color, value and contrast range. In addition, we'll cover basic landscape composition principles and texture techniques to best render trees, water, rock, mountains and man-made structures within a variety of weather conditions. Get ready to create the environment you've always dreamed of!

Classical Realism in Oil and Pastel PA05 Ages 18+
Through demonstration and individual instruction, nationally renowned painter James Sulkowski will teach you the concepts and techniques that make a painting a timeless treasure. This course will cover Classical principles of drawing, form, composition, texture and color as well as how to create depth, light, and atmosphere in a painting. Subject matter will include still life, floral, and also the portrait.

Watercolors with Doug Brown PA06 Ages 18+
This watercolor class will focus on the principles of controlled realism. Each class will begin with a short demonstration of the subject matter of the week. All levels of experience are welcome. Each student will receive individual attention and can work at his or her own pace. Please bring drawings and/or photographs of the subject you wish to paint.

Color Theory with Joyce Werwie Perry PA07 Ages 18+
This class is an extensive look at color theory based on the book The Elements of Color by Johannes Itten. Students will have the opportunity to complete 5 project boards over 7 weeks covering topics that include color accuracy, light/dark contrast, complimentary contrast, cool/warm contrast, saturation, etc. There will be ongoing discussions on how the importance of this major component of creating art is utilized for maximum benefit in painting through purpose and design. Upon completion, students will have gained much knowledge of how to choose, mix and manipulate color to greatly improve their paintings. Getting the Most Out of Acrylic Paint PA08 Ages 18+
Acrylic paint is the perfect media not only for the beginning painter, but the most advanced experts! In this three-session workshop, we will learn how to blend with acrylics different types mediums, modifiers, and materials to complete a beautiful custom canvas composition each session. Students will learn how to modify the appearance, hardness, flexibility, texture, and other characteristics of the acrylic paint surface, which will truly enhance the way you paint forever.
