Ryan McCormick

Ryan Ian McCormick is best known for his vibrant Pittsburgh landscape paintings, which utilize complementary color schemes and architectural honesty. With a harmony of abstraction and realism in his work, McCormick describes his artistic aim as to, “consistently seek a balance between creative chaos and creative control.” The creative chaos is the abstraction, and the creative control is the realism in McCormick’s art.

As a teaching artist, McCormick specializes in drawing, painting and collage. Art history is incorporated into studio classes as a catalyst for students to honor their own individual artistic style. McCormick also teaches art at the Pittsburgh Center for the Arts and offers private art tutoring. He studied studio art and creative writing at Michigan State University.
