INTRODUCTION TO WEAVING
TC08
Ages 16 & up

Try your hand at one of the oldest and most time-honored crafts around—hand weaving. This course traces the historical development of weaving from the simplest looms to contemporary table jack looms and familiarizes students with structure and use of equipment. Students will also learn skills like how to draft patterns and calculate the needed yarn. In this fun and informative class, everyone will have the opportunity to finish a sampler as well as the chance to weave individual pieces. Materials can be purchased from the instructor at class and will cost approximately $15-$30. Looms are provided.
