NOW HIRING:  Event Coordinator (Part-time)

Sweetwater Center for the Arts, a non-profit art center located in Sewickley, is hiring a part-time Event Coordinator.  The Event Coordinator should have a love for special event management, provide outstanding customer service and be an enthusiastic professional.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Development, implementation and evaluation of special events, including programmatic and fundraising events (ex. Sweet Jazz, Art Brew, Holiday mART, etc.); Attends all special events
  • Manages event budgets
  • Coordinates committee work; acts as "Chair" for most events
  • Oversees event mailings, print material distribution and design work relating to events
  • Assists executive director with grants and final reports relating to event
  • Organizes all aspects of events including vendors, rentals, etc. which includes negotiating for prices and prepares contracts; organizes food, beverages, paper products, etc.
  • Manages all aspects of the hiring process and supervision of event interns
  • Documents demographic and evaluation information from events and provides analysis which includes tracking attendance numbers; creates, distributes and records survey results; and analyzes and communicates results.
  • Supports Marketing & Development Coordinator with marketing events 

Qualifications:

  • Detail-oriented, organized and possess strong interpersonal skills, the ability to multi-task and have basic computer knowledge (MS Office to include MS Word and Excel)
  • Strong written and oral communication skills and the ability to think creatively
  • Valid Pennsylvania driver's license with reliable transportation
  • Previous experience in event coordination; non-profit field preferred
  • Ability to prioritize, anticipate upcoming issues, initiate process; all while managing ongoing tasks
  • Must have the ability to accomplish projects with little supervision

Education: Bachelor's degree desired, or equivalent combination of education and training.

Schedule:  Monday, Wednesday and Friday; and/or flexed schedule pending events

NOW HIRING: PART-TIME RECEPTIONIST

Sweetwater Center for the Arts, a non-profit art center located in Sewickley, is hiring a part-time receptionist. Primary responsibilities include maintaining a presence at the front desk, providing excellent customer service, fielding telephone calls, receiving and directing customers with a positive attitude, assisting instructors, setting up for classes, filing and data entry.  Qualifications: applicant must be responsible, organized, possess strong interpersonal skills and have basic computer knowledge.

Education: completion of high school; pursuance of college degree an asset.  This position is ideal for individuals who are currently in college and/or looking for a part-time job to supplement their income.  Compensation is $9.00/hour and hours range from 10-15 hrs/week.

Schedule includes but is not limited to:

Monday and Tuesday evenings
Alternating Friday evening & Saturday shifts
Occasional Sunday shifts
