SPRING 2017 CULINARY CLASSES

Due to the nature of culinary arts classes, Sweetwater is unable to accommodate food allergies/dietary restrictions. Pre-registration is required for classes in culinary arts.

Let's Brew CC02 Ages 21+
During this 8 week course, students will learn all of the basics of brewing delicious home-brewed beer. We'll cover all aspects of brewing great quality beer at home including: ingredients, equipment, sanitation, bottling and kegging, how to determine ABV, extract brewing, all grain brewing, adjuncts and additives, and how to clone your favorite brew. Recipes will be included and we will be able to take home what we brew!

Fondue CC01 Ages 18+
Join Chef and owner of Mezza Luna café Sherri Kelly as she teaches you how to give a hip new look to one of our favorite retro meals: fondue! Relive those groovy evenings of gathering around the fondue cheese pot while learning some updated cheesy goodness ideas for your next gathering.

One-Pan Entrees CC03 Ages 18+
Join Chef Nick Gryszka for this one-of-a-kind class, as he teaches you how to slice, dice, and sauté your way to delicious entrees that are sure to impress. Using only one pan, students will learn to make amazing meals in minutes using fresh ingredients and even leftovers from last night. Students will learn to make creole, pepper steak, kielbasa bake, Mexican chili mac, bourbon chicken, and much more!

Deli Masters CC04 Ages 18+
Forget the Carnegie, this is the Sweetwater deli! Join local Chef and owner of the Meza Luna Café Sherri Kelly as she teaches you how to make the classic sandwiches we all love, as well as new spins on our classic deli favorites. Using fresh ingredients, students will learn the tips and tricks to take your sandwich artistry to the next level.

Cocktails: From your Garden to a Glass CC05 Ages 21+
What better way to welcome in spring than with your own craft cocktail? Start planning your spring garden by learning how to best use a variety of herbs and spices while making your own garden to glass cocktails. Learn about bitters, syrups, and infusions while perfecting your home bar technique. Must be 21 years of age or older.

Spices from Around the World CC06 Ages 18+
Join Chef Kate Jeffe as she guides you on a spice tour from around the globe. Once you complete this course, you will have the confidence and know-how to create international dishes that are sure to impress. Students will learn to make spicy Indian curry, earthy Mexican mole sauce that will revolutionize taco night, Italian pesto for that perfect pasta, dry rubs for grilling season, and much more!

Italian Wines 101 CC07 Ages 21+
Do you like wine, cheese, & chocolate? Who Doesn't!? Join Allora Wine Group for a casual, but informative wine education event at Sweetwater. Allora owner & wine monger, Michel Mincin, has hand-picked 5 Italian wines & will craftily pair them with 4 artisan cheeses & 1 unique chocolate. Over the course of 2 hours, Michel will teach you about each individual grape & region including anecdotes & food pairings for each wine. Ciao! Must be 21 years of age or older.
