THE ART OF SUSHI

If you've ever watched a sushi chef cut and assemble sushi, you've probably been amazed at how quickly they work. Though preparing sushi may seem like a daunting task, in this hands-on workshop, Chef David Plankenhorn will teach you step-by-step instructions that will have you making sushi for all your friends and family in no time. After a brief introduction to Japanese culture and the history of sushi, you will learn how to make maki (roll with nori), uramaki (inside out roll), temaki (cone roll), and nigiri (rise ball) using ingredients such as salmon, scallop, crab, tuna and tofu. Bring your appetite! Materials fee is included in the tuition. BYOS (Bring your own sake!)

Come to a seasonal celebration of what summer in western Pennsylvania has to offer, as we explore the world of peppers, tomatoes and other summer greats. Students will learn about canning and take part in a discussion on how to think and eat more green all year long. Don't miss this educational cooking workshop. Materials fee is included in the tuition. BYOB
