site / sight exhibition submission

Sweetwater is currently seeking photographic work for our upcoming site / sight exhibition concerning humanity's complex relationship to place. What does the world look like and how do people see themselves within it? How are memory and identity manifested in those perspectives? How does the constancy of change and the current state of flux influence this connection?

Entry deadline: April 1, 2018
Exhibition dates: May 12 - June 8, 2018
Submission fee: $25 for 3 works
Open to artists who reside in the continental US who are 18 years of age or older

site / sight is juried by Ashley McNelis, Curatorial Assistant for the Carnegie International, 57th Edition, 2018 at the Carnegie Museum of Art in Pittsburgh. McNelis is a New York-based writer, curator, and art historian specializing in photography. She is a contributor to BOMB Magazine, The Brooklyn Rail, The Heavy Collective, and Hyperallergic.

To submit complete the form below and upload your images as .jpg and an image list as a PDF.

Please name your images as your initials_number of entry_title of work. Example: (GO_1_Black Iris.jpg, GO_2_The Lawrence Tree.jpg, etc.)

On your image list include your name, entry number, title of work, media, image size, size of framed/finished work, and price.

When you or a family member is looking to take an art class, view an exhibition, or attend a cultural event, where do you turn? If you're like most in our community, you go to Sweetwater Center for the Arts.

$1,000 provides enough materials to fund a semester-long community outreach program.
$500 allows two senior citizens to take an oil painting class.
$250 provides enough clay for every student in an 8-week ceramics class.
$200 will send a child to summer camp for a week.
$100 provides the food for a culinary workshop.
$50 provides materials for two weeks of painting camps.
