60 Years of Making Submission

Edinboro University faculty have been teaching the art of pottery, vessels, and ceramic sculpture for 60 years. The program has produced more than 200 talented and accomplished ceramic alumni artists. 60 Years of Making aims to celebrate the influence this program has had on the greater ceramic arts community by bringing together a diverse and dynamic group of works from Edinboro alumni across the country.

Entry deadline extended: January 20, 2019
Exhibition dates: March 21 – April 18, 2019
Submission fee: $20 for 3 works
The Edinboro University Alumni Engagement Office is providing $600 in awards for first, second, and third place that will be chosen by the juror.

60 Years of Making is juried by Edward Eberle.

Eberle is an alumnus of Edinboro, class of 1967. He received his MFA from Alfred University and went on to teach at the Philadelphia College of Art and Carnegie Mellon University. Eberle’s long and accomplished career has taken his work across the globe. He has shown in numerous exhibitions, including solo exhibitions at the Carnegie Museum of Art, Society for Contemporary Craft, The Clay Studio in Philadelphia, The Columbus Museum of Art, and Garth Clark Gallery in New York, among others. He is represented in many collections including the Smithsonian American Art Museum, de Young Museum, Philadelphia Museum of Art, National Gallery of Australia, Los Angeles County Museum of Art, Cranbrook Academy of Art, Boston Museum of Art, and the Carnegie Museum of Art, to name a few. Eberle resides in Pittsburgh and continues to create work at his studio in Homestead, PA.

Open to artists who earned an undergraduate or graduate degree in ceramics at Edinboro University of Pennsylvania. Artists may submit up to 2 images for each work. Clay must be the primary material used in the work submitted.

Please name your images as your initials_number of entry_title of work. Example: (GO_1_Black Iris.jpg, GO_2_The Lawrence Tree.jpg, etc.)

On your image list include your name, entry number, title of work, media, size of work, and price.

$1,000 provides enough materials to fund a semester-long community outreach program.
$500 allows two senior citizens to take an oil painting class.
$250 provides enough clay for every student in an 8-week ceramics class.
$200 will send a child to summer camp for a week.
$100 provides the food for a culinary workshop.
$50 provides materials for two weeks of painting camps.
