First Fruit XIV: Come Celebrate with Me

Sweetwater Center for the Arts is looking for African American artists and artists whose work celebrates African American culture to submit work for its 14th annual First Fruit Exhibition.
This year's exhibition, First Fruit XIV: Come Celebrate with Me, will showcase the work of emerging and accomplished artists that is inspired by the last two lines of the late Lucille Clifton's poem, Won't You Celebrate with Me,
"...Come celebrate with me the fact that everyday something has tried to kill me, and has failed."
This exhibition is juried by Vanessa German, an award winning, multi disciplinary artist. A performer and sculptor, German creates contemporary power figures inspired by the everyday extraordinary might of the human spirit.

Sweetwater is celebrating its sixteenth annual holiday sale of handcrafted, unique works created by local and natinal artisans. This year we have invited a number of bright new artists to showcase their wares, along with some of our favorites from previous years. Holiday mART is a Sewickley tradition and includes a large selection of fine jewelry, ceramics, glass, fiber arts, two dimensional art and much more! Admission to the sale is FREE!
