Sweetwater Center for the Arts, located in Sewickley, will present Art Brew—a NEW special event to be held on Saturday, July 12, 2014. Local craft breweries will team up with Pittsburgh’s infamous food trucks to create beer and food pairings. In addition, Art Brew will include live music and creative art activities for adults to enjoy. This event will be held outdoors in Sweetwater’s parking lot and on Bank Street.

We hope that you will consider supporting Sweetwater by sponsoring Art Brew, advertising in the Art Brew program and/or making a financial contribution. We will offer a discount on sponsorship pricing and advertising pricing if your company wishes to support both Wild Things and Art Brew.

WILD THINGS

Event date: April 4, 2014

Sweetwater Center for the Arts, a nonprofit art center located on the corner of Broad Street and Ohio River Boulevard (Route 65) in Sewickley, will present Wild Things, an awareness campaign featuring a public art installation created by U.K. street artist, Luke Egan (aka Filthy Luker; http://filthyluker.org/). The installation will include giant, inflatable tentacles installed on top of Sweetwater’s building—a prime location for anyone traveling across the Sewickley Bridge or on Route 65. This installation will no doubt attract widespread attention, making Sweetwater and Sewickley a destination for visitors from across our region.

The Wild Things theme will be interwoven into numerous community activities and festivals as well as Sweetwater events and programming. Wild Things will launch on Friday, April 4, 2014 in conjunction with the Sewickley Spring Gallery Walk and will continue throughout the spring and summer months. In addition to the public art installation, Sweetwater will present a juried Wild Things art exhibition, with an opening reception to be held on April 4, as well as a family-oriented festival on June 7, 2014 featuring games, refreshments and numerous interactive activities for the whole family to enjoy. Wild Things events are open to the public and free of charge.

One goal of this unique project is to promote the Sewickley community’s business district and nonprofit organizations to residents from across the region. We invite you to become involved and share in this innovative and interactive project!
