Derek Reese

Derek Reese is an artist living and working in Pittsburgh, PA. Reese utilizes raw and discarded materials to investigate landscape and our environments as they are affected by time and use. His work has be described as “exploring the unusual interplay between the additions and alterations we make to our landscapes and the way nature and time contribute to the constant undulation between what is temporary and what is permanent." (Katelynd Gibbons) He earned his BFA from West Virginia University and his MFA from Ohio State University. He currently works for the Greater Pittsburgh Arts Council.

Derek participated in Sweetwater’s Corners of Thought exhibition March 29-April 28, 2018.
