Anna Mikolay

My paintings are a long term exploration of color fields, geometric shapes, patterns and optics in a given composition. I sometimes treat the paintings as objects and manipulate how they can activate a given space. On a larger scale, I paint directly onto the wall and consider the relationship between composition, architecture and the viewer passing through it.

My installations respond to the uniqueness of each site. And explore the relationship between material, concept, site and viewer.

Anna participated in Sweetwater’s Corners of Thought exhibition March 29-April 28, 2018.
