50 Bowls/50 States/50 Woodfires

Artist Reception: Friday, March 16, 6:00-9:00pm.

Wyoming artist Elaine Henry presents an exhibition of 50 thrown bowls that is an investigation into the variations that occur during the process of wood firing. Each of her bowls, similar in size, shape and glaze treatment, have traveled to a different state to be fired in a different wood kiln. There is a wide range of variants that can affect the outcomes in a wood firing, the distinctions can be subtle and complex. Join us to view the variety of results this fascinating examination is sure to create. This exhibition is part of the National Council on Education for the Ceramic Arts 52nd annual conference that will be held in Pittsburgh March 14-17, 2018. The National Council on Education for the Ceramic Arts is a dynamic organization that inspires global advancement and appreciation of the field through programs, exhibitions, opportunities and resources. www.nceca.net
